Wexford no longer has a separate local cap: since 1 March 2026, national rent-control rules apply across Ireland instead of the former Rent Pressure Zone system. For most private tenancies, rent may generally be increased only once every 12 months and by no more than 2% or the rate of inflation, whichever is lower. Specific notice and calculation requirements apply, and limited exceptions may allow a different approach in particular circumstances. Check the latest guidance and RTB rent calculator, or speak to a solicitor, because the outcome depends on the tenancy’s facts.
