RentWise Team: If you have been locked out, had your belongings removed or otherwise prevented from accessing your rented home without a lawful basis, you can apply to the RTB for dispute resolution, provided the tenancy is within its remit. Keep the tenancy agreement, rent-payment records, messages, photographs, witness details and any notices or Garda correspondence. Do not force your way back in; if there is an immediate safety issue, contact An Garda Síochána. The RTB may consider remedies such as compensation or access to the property, but the outcome depends on the evidence and facts of the case.
