How do I use the RPZ rent increase formula? Could you show an example using a current rent of 1500?

Where the RPZ or national rent-control cap applies, the maximum increase is generally the lower of 2% or the applicable inflation (HICP) rate. For example, if the rent is €1,500 and HICP is 3%, the 2% cap applies: €1,500 × 0.02 = €30, giving a maximum new rent of €1,530. If HICP is 1.2%, the increase would instead be €18, giving €1,518. Rent reviews are generally limited to once every 12 months, but check the RTB’s current guidance and calculator for the rules applying to your tenancy.
