Wexford does not have separate county rules: from 1 March 2026, most private tenancies are generally subject to a national annual cap of 2% or the rate of inflation, whichever is lower. A landlord must usually give at least 90 days’ notice of a rent review and follow the required RTB notice process. Different rules may apply in limited circumstances, including some new tenancies or exemptions, so check the tenancy date and the RTB’s latest guidance. If you believe an increase is unlawful, the RTB can ultimately decide a dispute based on the tenancy’s facts.
