A landlord’s decision to sell does not automatically end your tenancy, and the property may be sold with your tenancy continuing. If the landlord wants you to leave to sell, they must follow the statutory notice procedure, give the correct notice period and usually provide the required statutory declaration and sale details. You are entitled to reasonable notice of viewings and should not face unreasonable disruption. If you believe the notice is invalid or your rights are being breached, keep records and contact the RTB or a solicitor; the outcome depends on the facts of your tenancy.
