Your landlord should give reasonable notice and agree a suitable time with you before entering to inspect the property, carry out repairs or show it to prospective tenants or buyers. You are generally expected to allow reasonable access, but the landlord should not simply let themselves in without agreement, except where urgent action is needed in an emergency. Check your tenancy agreement for any access arrangements and keep records if repeated unannounced visits occur. If you cannot resolve the issue, the RTB can deal with a dispute based on the facts of your tenancy; a solicitor can advise on your specific circumstances.
