Can my landlord enter my rented home whenever they want or do they need my permission and notice?

In Ireland, a landlord should arrange access with you and give reasonable notice before entering, usually for inspections, repairs or maintenance. They should not enter simply because they have a key, and you are entitled to peaceful occupation of your home. An exception may apply in a genuine emergency, such as a serious leak or fire risk. If access becomes disputed, keep records of messages and attempted visits; the RTB can consider the individual circumstances through its dispute resolution process.
