Wexford town was designated as a Rent Pressure Zone under the former system, but that designation did not automatically cover every part of County Wexford. Since 20 June 2025, national rent-control rules have applied across Ireland, replacing the former Rent Pressure Zone framework for most private tenancies. In general, rent can usually be increased no more than once a year and is subject to a statutory limit, although exemptions and transitional rules may apply. Check the latest guidance on gov.ie or the RTB website for your tenancy’s circumstances.
