A Reader Is Dublin still a Rent Pressure Zone and what does that mean for my rent?

A RentWise Team Answered by

RentWise Team: Dublin was designated as a Rent Pressure Zone before 1 March 2026, covering its four local authority areas. From 1 March 2026, RPZs were replaced by national rent-control rules, so rent increases are generally limited to the lower of inflation or 2% annually, subject to statutory conditions and exceptions. Whether a particular increase is lawful depends on the tenancy’s dates, circumstances and the applicable legislation. Check the RTB or gov.ie for the current rules, or seek advice from a qualified solicitor if you are disputing an increase.
