Cork was designated as a Rent Pressure Zone, covering Cork City and Cork County. However, from 1 March 2026, national rent-control rules replaced the former RPZ system, so rent increases are generally subject to a national limit and timing requirements rather than Cork’s separate designation. Exceptions and transitional rules may apply, including depending on when the tenancy began.
