A Government review of Rent Pressure Zone policy does not, by itself, change the law. Until any new legislation or regulations take effect, landlords and tenants must follow the rent-setting, notice and exemption rules currently in force. Proposals discussed during a review should not be treated as enforceable rights or obligations. Check the Department of Housing’s website and the RTB for official announcements and commencement dates, and consider professional advice if a rent increase or tenancy dispute turns on the rules.
