Eviction notice rules in Meath are generally the same as elsewhere in Ireland. A landlord’s notice period depends on how long the tenancy has lasted, ranging from 28 days for a tenancy of less than six months to 224 days for one lasting eight years or more. The notice must usually be in writing, state the termination date and, after the first six months, give a legally permitted reason; a copy generally must also be sent to the RTB. Check the RTB’s current guidance and notice calculator, and seek legal advice if you believe the notice is invalid, as the RTB ultimately decides disputes.
