If my area stops being an RPZ can my landlord immediately increase my rent or end my tenancy?

No: an RPZ designation ending does not by itself end your tenancy or allow an immediate rent increase. Any review must follow the rent-control and rent-review rules in force at the time, including requirements about notice, timing and how the new rent is calculated. Transitional rules may apply depending on when the designation ends and when your tenancy began, and national rent-control measures may also be relevant. Check the latest guidance from the RTB or gov.ie, and consider legal advice if you receive a disputed rent notice.
