If my area stops being an RPZ can my landlord immediately increase my rent or end my tenancy?

An RPZ designation ending does not by itself end your tenancy or allow an immediate rent increase. The rules applying to a rent review depend on the date, the type of tenancy and the national rent-control provisions in force, and your landlord must still follow the required notice and calculation rules. A change in designation does not automatically allow the rent to be reset to any figure the landlord chooses. Check the current guidance on the RTB or gov.ie, and consider professional advice if you receive a disputed rent-increase or termination notice.
